About Us
The primary goal of the Office of Research Development (ORD) is to facilitate the attainment of UT Dallas’ strategic goal of becoming a Tier One university by increasing extramural research funding. ORD works in partnership with faculty to provide support for the early stages of program and proposal development of large, team-based research and provides additional proposal-enhancing resources for faculty.
Our activities include:
- Matching research expertise with funding opportunities and communicating those opportunities to deans, department heads, center directors, and faculty members;
- Coordinating multi-unit responses to high-profile requests for proposal;
- Identifying, developing, and implementing strategic services and resources that aid faculty in preparing the best possible proposals;
- Fostering professional research development for students through targeted programs;
- Connecting UT Dallas investigators with internal and external partners to help develop strategic alliances, build effective teams and maximize use of collective resources.
ORD works with the Office of Sponsored Projects to expand faculty’s capacity to pursue multi- and interdisciplinary research initiatives that garner national attention.
