Why Add Events?

The Comet Calendar is linked to from the UT Dallas home page and has high visibility, especially to students. Traffic to the Comet Calendar is usually ranked in the top 20 most visited pages on the university's website, ranging from 27,000 to 44,000 views per month in the long semesters.

Calendar users can subscribe to the RSS feed of upcoming events or use it to automatically add events to social networking sites. Web developers can use it to automatically and efficiently populate their school, department or division website like the School of Arts and Humanities' Events page.

Maximum "findability" by search engines, including Google, may be the most compelling reason to publish your event to the Comet Calendar. The thoughtful selection of keywords has resulted in great unpaid results in the search engines for many publishers.

How to Add Events

Events Sponsored by Students

The Student Union room registration form offers an option to have your event listed in the Comet Calendar. If you choose this option, your event will be added to the Comet Calendar once the event is approved.

Events Sponsored by Staff / Faculty

Arrange for any employee in your department add events by sending an email to University Web Services. Include a list of names and roles (adders or approvers).

Most departments on campus have publishers. If your event is affiliated with a department listed below, contact someone in that department by clicking on it.
